Harry Potter

I am a huge Harry Potter nerd and am disgusted by the way JKR is behaving and how she is using her platform to harm trans* people. HP was the book that opened my eyes to how important equality is for everyone. Unfortunately, my whole life has (r)evolved about Harry Potter up until that point. Reading those books literally saved my life in school, I met my two best friends through them (who are still my best friends after 16 years), my husband shares this deep appreaciation for the books and we did have a HP themed wedding. 80% of my clothes are various HP shirts and there is not a day where I don't think of HP. I know it sounds obsessive (and it probably is), but it is through Harry Potter that I wanted to learn English, even studied it at university and got my job because of my English skills. Got to know my husband because I was hanging out at an Englisch "Stammtisch" (a German thing - a weekly meeting for anyone interested in that certain topic). It is so hard for me to change my whole life around and I feel a bit lost without it. So to make it short: There will be Harry Potter mentions on this site, but please know that I don't condone anything Rowling does that harms trans* people and/or the LGBT*QIA+ Community in any way. I just wish JKR would wake up one morning and decide that she wants to be a decent human being. I am keeping my fingers crossed, but I don't have much hope.
